As a result of great care and attention of Mr Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan Republic, Azerbaijan is known as sport country in the world.

Azerbaijan has hosted successfully some prestigious sport competitions like European Games and Formula 1. This year IV Islamic Solidarity Games, Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand-Prix will be held in our country.

Besides other sport competitions hold in Azerbaijan, Special attention is paid to the development of Table Tennis. The measures that carried out for Strengthening the Organizational side of Azerbaijan Table Tennis Federation and development the logistical base of National Team has increased the interests to this type of sport.

Surely, establishment of infrastructures that meet high and modern standards is the crucial point in the development sport in Our country.  

The newly opened Sport Complex of the Azerbaijan Table Tennis Federation in the Seaside Boulevard of Sumgait city has been reviewed on 18 March.

Shahin Mustafayev, Ministry of Economy and President of Table Tennis Federation of Azerbaijan, Ismayil Ismayilov, Deputy of Minister of Youth and Sports and ZakirFarajov, Head of Executive of Sumgait city have been taken part in the event.

Modern Sports Complex is planned to prepare the members of National Team and high-level sportsmen, implement successfully high-level sports competitions and training camps among different age groups. Sport Complex includes specialized table tennis hall that has 11000 m² area and 2 modern artificial covered mini-football pitches and administrative building. There are 6 changing rooms, 4 shower rooms, rest rooms and café in the building.

4 trainings can be hold that each of them has 2 hours in this table tennis hall. Up to 25 tennis tables can be accommodated for training process that create opportunity to coach to train with 50 teenage athletes.   Generally, more than 200 athletes can use the advantages of complex during a day. Moreover, 2 mini-football bitches that meet modern standards are presented to athletes.

Notably, the table tennis team of Azerbaijan perform successfully in European and World Championships every year and wins gold, silver and bronze medals. Our athletes have won 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in 2015, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in 2016 in international competitions, on the February of 2017 our athletes have won 3 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals in international competitions and championships. As a result of performed works for the development of table tennis in Azerbaijan, our female tennis team has ranked 43^rd place by improving 39 levels but our teenage girls team has ranked 14^th place by improving 56 points in the women`s team rankings. Our male team ranked 64<sup>th</sup> place(26 levels improved) , Our teenage boys team ranked 13<sup>th</sup> place (75 levels improved).
Sport Complex of Table Tennis Federation that has been launched from today will be important at increasing of young people`s interest on sport and at the popularity of table tennis, further strengthening of health, organizing of leisure time and in generally at the development of sport.
